Scrap is the discarded material from a manufacturing job - it can be either a faulty product or an example for testing both of which will reduce the total good product count. Scrap is part of the Quality measure of OEE calculation and scrap can be analyzed using Analytics scrap report.

With GlobalReader you can add different types of scrap reasons and even decide if the specific scrap reason is included in the OEE calculation or not. Scrap reasons can be entered by the operator during the production process using our Shopfloor feedback feature.

How to add, edit or inactivate a scrap reason for a specific workstation?

On the Scrap reasons page under Device profile, you will be able to add, edit and inactivate scrap reasons. The page also gives you an overview of what reasons have been added for the specific workstations which means that the reasons are selectable during the production process for the operators.

On the Device profile Scrap reasons page you can:

1. Add new Scarp reason for the workstation from the list of already present reasons in the system - simply click on Choose and add the reason needed
2. Get an overview of already added Scrap reasons for the specific workstation
3. Easily remove not wanted Scrap reason from the specific workstation by clicking on the 'Remove from this device' button
4. Check Scrap reason details if clicked on the reason name - edit details if needed and click on 'Save'
5. Add a totally new Scrap reason to the system by clicking on 'Add new scrap from here'
