Scrap reasons and entered scrap counts will affect the Quality measure of the OEE calculation. Analyze of scrap can be done in the Analytics scrap report.

How to add a scrap reason?

Scrap reasons can be entered on the Scrap reasons page under Advance Device setup by following the steps:

  1. Click on 'Add new'
  2. Fill in details - the name for scrap reason, choose workstations from the drop-down for which the reason is available, select to be part of OEE calculation or not (Quality calculation box). Within Advanced Settings, you can add code for the ERP system as part of the Smart Factory feature and colour for the type.
  3. Click on 'Save' and the reason is added and ready to be used by the operator

Good to know! By default, the new scrap reason is added for all the workstations and is included in the OEE calculation.

How to edit a scrap reason?

Scrap reasons can be edited by following the steps:

  1. Look up the scrap reason from the list in Passport
  2. Click on the reason name
  3. Edit dialog is opened
  4. Change details - e.g on what device the reason is available
  5. Click on 'Save'

How to inactivate a scrap reason?

When scrap reason is no longer needed, then it can be inactivated and previously entered data with this reason will remain on the system. Please follow the steps to inactivate a scrap reason:

  1. Look up the scrap reason from the list in Passport
  2. Click on the reason name
