The normal shift in GlobalReader means that you have set shift times for your production and the OEE scheduled Availability is based on the set shift times and always added to the graphs and reports for the set times.

How to set up a normal recurring shift?

The first option to set up a normal recurring shift pattern is offered during Device quick setup process, but it can be always set up using Device Advance setup page for Shifts. The first choice you need to make is whether you are creating a recurring shift template or a one-time shift. After that please follow the steps:

  1. Click on 'Add recurring shift'
  2. Add 'Name' for the shift
  3. Define shift start and end time - by default they are added as 8:00-17:00
  4. Choose the weekdays when the shift occurs - by default selected are days from Monday to Friday
  5. Select the Devices from drop-down menu for which the shift template is added
  6. Click on 'Save'

In case operating in two or more shifts then create a Recurring shift template for each shift and apply to workstation. For example Morning shift 07:00-15:00, Evening shift 15:00-23:00

How to set up a normal one-time shift?

The first choice you need to make on the Shifts page is whether you are creating a recurring shift template or a one-time shift. One-time shifts on the other are used only on special occasions - e.g extra shifts during the weekend. Please follow the steps:

  1. Click on 'Add one-time shift'
  2. Choose if you want to use as a Shift name from previously added normal shifts or create new name
  3. Choose a Device from drop-down menu for which the one-time shift is added
  4. Define Start date and time
  5. Define End date and time
  6. Click on 'Save'
